10g webgate failover to oam 11g

Hi,

We are facing a problem where webgate 10g is constructing URL to my OAM node1 only always. So my "failover to node2" scenario never works. can u pls help to fix this. OAM is 11gR2.

My OAM node1 host is dvuxap11
My OAM node2 host is dvuxap12

URL is generated as below always:
http://dvuxap11:7531/oam/server/obrareq.cgi?

What ever we change, it never generates http://dvuxap12:7531/oam/server/obrareq.cgi?

So we have a classic failure case where if my dvuxap11 is down, my total site is down.
can you please help where/what should we look ??

- thanks a lot..

Re: 10g webgate failover to oam 11g

Hi,

The above issue is resolved by correcting the load balencer setting in Access Manager setup. We hit the next issue as below:

when a protected resource is accessed first time, OAM_node1 is generating the "request_id" and the login form is thrown to user.
Now user keys in username and password, then submits. This time, based on round robin algorithm, the http request reaches OAM_node2 where it complains that it does not know the "request_id".

Re: 10g webgate failover to oam 11g

Hi,

This problem can be solved by using sticky session during load balancing. This will send second request also to the same server.

So try implementing sticky sessions.

Thanks,
